Introduction of Changsha

Changsha is the provincial capital city of Hunan Province, China. Changsha city connects the eastern and western parts of China, therefore, the city has a very convenient transportation connecting with major cities. In recent years, Changsha has become one of the fastest developing cities in China.

There is a huge potential in the Changsha Market. In 2017, the GDP of Changsha has reached 102 billion CNY (estimated), with a 9% annual growth. Meanwhile, the total amount of the retail sales of social consumer goods is 923.931 billion CNY. It is estimated that there will be huge market consumption potentials in many commercial sectors such as hotels, restaurants and retails.

The Changsha government has made massive commitments in the transportation and city construction. In the future, there will be 12 subway lines and 333 subway stations. Additionally, there has been 13 district- level shopping area and commercial area. Changsha city will be the new-rising attraction for the investment and commercial activities.

Event Details


The cost for each participants is £1600 for SBBA members, or £1800 for non-members. The overall cost includes the international flights to and from China, pre-arranged hotel accommodation, travel insurance, group travel, and networking events.

Group Travel

Your international travel to and from China will be booked by the SBBA. Each delegate will pay for their travel costs to get to and from London airport. Group travel to networking and group events while overseas will be covered by us.

Hotel and Meals

We will cover the cost of your overnight accommodation (Bed and Breakfast) at the hotel for the duration of the trip. Incidentals and extras will need to be met by you. The welcome and departure dinner costs will be met by us. Additional subsistence will be at your own costs, including any optional activities.

To apply for a visa to enter China for commercial and travel activities, the SBBA will issue each participants a letter of invite to the mission. Vision Legal Services Ltd (UK) will assist you with the Visa application. All participant must be in possession of a valid passport (with at least 6 month left on the passport from the mission start date) at point of application. The cost of Visa or any travel cost to the Visa center will need to be met by you. For more information about the Visa service, please visit:


Cambridge Culture Exchange will offer professional translation of participants’ business overview or business plan.Translation service will be available during the trip. The translation cost is optional extra. When you are in China, you will need an interpreter to attend each of your business meetings. How to apply?

To apply for our Trade Mission to China, please download the registration form here. Please complete and return the application form via email:

You will need the following information to hand to complete application:

  1. Company’s House Registration Number and year established
  2. Number of employee in the UK
  3. Turnover per annual
  4. Description of company (within 200 words)
  5. Short biography of the person who will represent your company on the mission
  6. You will also need to submit a business case (your plan for entry into the market) for China explaining why your products/service has what it takes to establish a long-term presence in this country.

Once your place has been confirmed, you will be sent an invoice. We kindly ask that this is paid promptly to show your commitment to the Trade Mission.
